Transamerica-Pyramid

Another icon of the San Francisco landscape is the Transamerica-Pyramid.  It is a four sided building with crushed quartz on its exterior.  The quartz reflects the light and gives the building a soft glow.  There are 18 elevators and you can take two of them to the top of the needle. Built in 1972, it was the tallest building in the world until 1974 and is still the tallest building in San Francisco.
