Snow White and the Huntsman

There was a lot of action in this rendition of Snow White by the Brothers Grimm.  I think the authors would have been proud of the way their story was retold on the big screen.  Charlize Theron was evil personified and she smoldered in her silences.  She was a bit more human when she began to rant but we have to have a bit of that as well.  Kristen Stewart showed us her ten facial expressions and they were appropriate to the movies' dialogue and story line.  It was Chris Hemsworth who nailed his role as the Huntsman.  He defied the evil queen, protected the virginal princess, fought the good fight and professed a love of his late wife. All the elements of a rival for the hand of the princess. Seems like sequel material and since it is already being filmed, I don't really have to guess.  Elements from the story that were woven into the film were the apple, the dark forest, the wicked step-mother, the mirror, and the dwarfs (plus one). I liked this movie and would give it a three out of a five on my rating scale.
